Cookbook
The Cookbook is for when you know exactly what you want to do and you want a single page that shows you how. Each recipe is task-focused, code-heavy, and pulls together whichever Firmly APIs are needed regardless of which solution or destination type they sit under.
Recipes here complement the API Reference (which documents endpoints in isolation) and the Use Case pages (which document broad pattern flows). The Cookbook is the “give me the pattern as a working snippet” layer.
Checkout guides
The two flows, end to end and runnable. Start with Standard — it fits most integrations; move to Advanced for richer fulfillment. Auth and catalog are the same for both.
Deeper checkout patterns
Beyond the two end-to-end guides — one-shot ordering, the full multi-step cart, and multi-shipment fulfillment (Advanced).
place-order request, when the cart needs no multi-step mutation.
Cart API Implementation Guide
The full multi-step cart — line items, shipments, addons, configurable fulfillment, and promotions across multiple turns.
Handle multi-shipment carts
Walking the shipments[] array — availability and method selection when one merchant ships from different warehouses.
Cross-solution recipes
What goes in the Cookbook
- Task-focused — each recipe answers a specific “how do I…” question
- Code-heavy — runnable snippets, not narrative
- Cross-cutting — recipes pull from multiple solutions and APIs as needed
- Honest — what works today, what’s planned, what has gotchas

Common patterns get baked into Cookbook recipes when they come up repeatedly. If your integration is solving something other destinations will hit too, suggest it to Firmly.
