Why Firmly for Branded Commerce

Branded Commerce needs four things to work end-to-end: a way to reach many merchants, payment infrastructure that the partner doesn’t have to build, attribution that flows correctly through affiliate networks, and edge hosting that puts the experience under the partner’s own domain. Firmly already has all four — Branded Commerce extends that infrastructure with partner-branded page hosting, promo handling, and engagement analytics.

 What Branded Commerce needs

Need Why
PCI handling without partner exposure Partners running deal ads don’t want to take on PCI obligations outside their core competency
Broad merchant coverage Partners reach many merchants through Firmly’s single integration, not a separate build per merchant
Attribution that works through affiliate networks The partner’s commercial model depends on the affiliate network correctly crediting the conversion
Edge hosting under the partner’s own domain Ad-message continuity requires the buyer to stay on the partner’s surface — first-party cookies, the partner’s pixels, the partner’s TLS
Real-time merchant data Price, stock, variants, and images need to come from the merchant’s catalog at PDP render time, not a stale snapshot

 What Firmly brings

 Platform adapters

Firmly speaks each merchant’s native API — across a wide range of industry-standard commerce platforms and custom platforms. Partners don’t need to know how each merchant works. Merchant integration is ongoing; new merchants are onboarded as partner demand requires.

 Payment infrastructure

Tokenization across PSPs, PayPal, Click to Pay, and other accelerated payment methods. Partners never touch payment data. PCI scope sits entirely with Firmly.

 Affiliate attribution

Traffic origin identification, detection of whether traffic reaches the merchant via an intermediary network or a direct affiliate relationship, and conversion posting as merchant-originated traffic. Works in either BYO mode (partner’s own affiliate network credentials) or Firmly-managed mode.

 Edge hosting

Firmly’s edge service serves partner-branded pages globally with low latency, DDoS protection, and custom-domain support. The buyer’s browser sees the partner’s domain end to end.

 Ad-platform signal delivery

Conversion events fire back to the originating ad platform — Meta CAPI, Google Ads Enhanced Conversions, TikTok / Pinterest / Snap / Reddit Conversions APIs — using the partner’s pixel IDs and stored click context. The partner’s ad campaign can attribute the conversion and optimize spend.

 What Firmly is not

  • Not the partner — the partner owns brand, ad creative, legal text, design direction, and the buyer relationship
  • Not the merchant — the merchant remains the seller of record; orders land in the merchant’s existing platform
  • Not the legal author — partner provides T&C, privacy policy, disclaimers; Firmly renders them
  • Not a marketing platform — partners run their own ad campaigns; Firmly only fires conversion signals after the order
  • Not a customer-service backstop — the merchant’s existing back-office workflows continue from order placement onward

The partner owns the buyer experience and the commercial relationships. Firmly owns the commerce plumbing in between. The merchant remains the seller — orders land in their native platform and their existing back-office workflows continue unchanged.

 When Branded Commerce fits

  • The partner has a captive audience clicking on deal ads and wants to keep them on its own domain through to order
  • The partner wants to differentiate on ad-to-checkout UX without taking on PCI compliance or per-merchant integration
  • The partner wants to support enough merchants that negotiating per-merchant integrations doesn’t scale
  • The partner already has ad-platform credentials and pixel configurations it wants Firmly to fire through

 When Branded Commerce doesn’t fit

  • The partner is itself the merchant (a first-party storefront) — a commerce platform is the right shape, not a hosting layer
  • The partner needs full control over the checkout HTML/CSS at the source level — Firmly’s themed templates are the surface
  • The partner’s audience is AI agents rather than human buyers — see Agentic Commerce instead
